Bringing Back “Your Plumber”: OctoPlus Launches Plus Club for Brisbane Homeowners
Formerly Brisbane Plumbing & Gas, the Morningside-based business has launched the Plus Club, an annual membership designed to give Brisbane homeowners a trusted, ongoing relationship with their plumber while helping them prevent problems, reduce unexpected costs and look after their home over the long term.
Brisbane, QLD - October 6, 2026-- There was a time when families had a plumber they knew.

OctoPlus Plumbing and Gas owner Billy Muir speak with their newest Plus Club member.
Someone they trusted. Someone who knew the house, remembered what had been repaired before, understood what mattered to the family and could be called without wondering who was going to turn up at the front door.
Brisbane family plumbing business OctoPlus Plumbing & Gas wants to bring some of that old-school service and loyalty back.
The idea has emerged at a time when the plumbing industry is facing pressure from both sides.
For homeowners, the rising cost of living means an unexpected plumbing repair can put significant pressure on the household budget.
For established trade businesses, the cost of finding new customers through advertising and online marketing has increased dramatically.
OctoPlus believes there is a better answer for both: build stronger, longer-term relationships with existing customers instead.
“We’ve been looking after Brisbane families for more than 21 years, and we want to get back to the idea that you shouldn’t have to search Google and start from scratch every time you need a plumber,” OctoPlus director Billy Muir said.
“You should be able to call someone you already know and trust, who knows your home and has a history of what’s been done there.”
Starting from $149 per year, Plus Club membership gives homeowners a range of practical benefits designed to make maintaining their home simpler and more affordable.
Members pay no assessment fee for OctoPlus to visit their property, assess the situation and provide options and pricing before any work begins.
They also receive a 10% discount on all repair and installation work, along with access to members-only special offers throughout the year.
But OctoPlus says the biggest benefit is something harder to put a dollar value on: confidence.
Every time a Plus Club member needs a plumber or gasfitter, they already know who they are calling.
They know the person arriving at their home is part of a business they trust. They can expect the team to turn up when they say they will, respect their home and explain their options clearly.
Over time, OctoPlus also builds a digital history of the property, including previous repairs, installations, observations and recommendations.
That means the plumber arriving at the home is not starting from zero.
They can see what work has previously been completed, understand the condition and history of key systems and take the homeowner’s priorities into account when recommending what should happen next.
That ongoing knowledge can help identify patterns, prevent recurring problems and allow homeowners to plan future maintenance before something becomes urgent.
It can also save money.
A plumber who knows that a hot water system is ageing, a drain has caused problems before or a particular section of plumbing has already been repaired can make better-informed recommendations than someone seeing the property for the first time.
The Plus Club also includes an annual whole-home plumbing and gas health check, giving members an opportunity to identify small issues before they become larger and more expensive problems.
During the check, an OctoPlus technician reviews key plumbing and gas systems throughout the home, looking for signs of leaks, unusual water pressure, ageing hot water components, deterioration and other potential concerns.
For Billy Muir, it is about shifting the relationship from emergency response to ongoing care.
“Most people only think about calling a plumber when something has already gone wrong,” he said.
“But a lot of the expensive problems we see didn’t happen overnight. There were warning signs beforehand.
“If we know the home, keep a record of what’s happening and see our customers regularly, we’ve got a much better chance of helping them avoid those nasty surprises.”
The membership also reflects a deliberate push by OctoPlus to restore trust in an industry that has attracted its share of negative headlines and consumer scepticism.
“We know people can feel nervous calling a trade,” Muir said.
“They’re wondering whether someone will actually turn up, whether they can trust what they’re being told and how much it is going to cost.
“We want our members to feel completely different about that. We want them to know, ‘These are our plumbers. We know them. We trust them. They know our home, and if something goes wrong, we know who to call.’”
For OctoPlus, that relationship ultimately allows the business to do more than repair problems.
It means helping customers keep their homes safe, comfortable and working properly, while preventing avoidable issues and helping families spend their maintenance dollars more wisely.
And in an era of rising living costs, rising business costs and increasingly transactional service, OctoPlus believes there is value in returning to something much simpler:
Knowing your plumber. And knowing they’ll look after you.
